Unique home with woodstove, AC, W/D, Sears & Roebuck kitchen - dog-friendly

Looking for a unique, quiet Vermont getaway? Look no further, “The Little House' in Hartland offers a partially air-conditioned getaway with all the tranquility you seek. Originally built as a farmhouse for a dairy farm well over 150 years ago, this home is the real deal for a retro Vermont vacation. It’s a fantastic location, seemingly away from it all, yet just a short drive to both Quechee and Woodstock.

You enter the home through the kitchen, which is one of the most interesting features of the house. It is a meticulously restored mail-order kitchen from 'Sears and Roebuck,' which was installed as an update to the house in the 1940s. A gas woodstove completes the ambiance of the kitchen dining area. There is a half bathroom and an adjacent den with a day bed/trundle, books, and games as you move through to the living room. The living room offers comfortable seating with a large smart TV - perfect to relax and enjoy a ball game or just kick your feet up and enjoy a good book. The main floor offers the primary bedroom off the living room, a full bathroom, and a separate guest bedroom.

Whatever time of year you decide to visit Vermont, The Little House in Hartland offers a myriad of nearby activities, from boating, fishing, and swimming on the Connecticut and Ottaquechee rivers, to skiing, mountain biking, and adventure at nearby Okemo and Killington mountains. Quechee, Woodstock, and Hanover NH (the home of Dartmouth College) are all close, and these beautiful New England villages combine quaintness with cultural sophistication. You will find galleries, museums, live theaters, unique shops, and a variety of excellent dining experiences in all three of these great towns.
